Superintendent announces two assistant principals, May recognitions and school events

The superintendent announced two new administrators who will join Walla Walla Public Schools: Emily Dana will serve as an assistant principal at the high school beginning in 2026–2027, and Matt Manley will be assistant principal at Green Park Elementary School.
“We welcome Emily Dana, who'll be an assistant principal starting in 2026-2027, and also Matt Manley, who'll be working as an assistant principal at Green Park Elementary School,” the superintendent said.
The superintendent also reminded listeners that Teacher Appreciation Week runs May 4–8 and said the district will recognize its Partners of the Year at the May 19 board meeting. He described two remaining filming sessions with “Dr. G,” including a Picture Lab art activity at Edison Elementary School and work with Pioneer sixth graders at the Water Center and Rooks Park.
On athletics, the superintendent gave a shout-out to Coach Hysaw and athletic director Chris Wren after the Legends Invitational track meet, noting more than 1,000 athletes competed and praising the community effort.
The segment closed with the superintendent thanking the community for a welcoming first year and reiterating commitment to the district’s vision.
