Weld County commissioners approve warrants, IT maintenance contracts and a $2.5M bridge grant amendment

At its April 29 meeting the Weld County board approved general warrants, awarded IT maintenance bids to Trace 3 Government LLC, authorized an intergovernmental agreement for a 24-hour ballot dropbox in Mead, and accepted a $2.5 million grant amendment for a bridge replacement project (bringing the grant total to $3 million).
The Weld County Board of County Commissioners on April 29 approved several routine financial and contract items including general warrants, IT maintenance contracts and a bridge grant amendment.
The board approved general warrants via roll-call vote; one motion was recorded as passing 4–0 with Commissioner Pepler recorded as abstaining on the first warrants vote. Commissioners also approved a separate warrants motion for Commissioner Scott James with James abstaining as recorded.
Toby Taylor of Purchasing presented IT maintenance bids. Trace 3 Government LLC (Colorado Springs) was recommended as the lowest responsive bidder for the Cisco maintenance and support contract (bid B2600025) at a total amount of $79,315.72; the board approved the award. Trace 3 was also recommended for Infoblox maintenance and support (bid B2600027) at $70,225.40; that award was approved as well. Taylor said a lower bid from Converge One was deemed incomplete for failing to submit required bill-of-materials documentation.
The board approved an intergovernmental agreement authorizing the chair to sign with the Town of Mead for installation, maintenance and 24-hour surveillance of a new ballot dropbox so voters can begin using it for the primary election, a step the elections deputy described as preparatory for the larger November election.
Jamie Olri of the Department of Human Services presented an amendment to contract ID 10588 to add options for drug and alcohol testing services for child-welfare clients via a Lammer County facility; the board approved the amendment. Public Works presented an extension request to keep County Road 29 closed between State Highway 392 and County Road 74 from May 4 to May 11 to finish utility relocations; that extension was approved.
Public Works staff also presented a memorandum of agreement to acquire 0.41 acres of right-of-way and 0.255 acres of temporary construction easement from Daryl and Tamara Lachman for the County Road 74/31 roundabout project; the initial offer previously approved is included in the 2026 public-works budget and the board approved contract ID 10597.
Michael Bedell of Public Works told commissioners that the Special Highway Committee and Colorado counties approved an additional grant amount of $2.5 million for Bridge 1946.5A replacement, bringing the total grant to $3 million; the board approved amendment to contract ID 10600 and staff indicated construction is planned for fall with about a year for completion.
No dissenting votes were recorded on these items where roll calls were used; other routine consent items were approved earlier in the meeting.
