Superintendent highlights strategic-plan outreach, referendum timeline and seven National Merit recipients

Superintendent Dr. McNeely told the Moorestown Township Public School District Board of Education that strategic-planning work is moving forward and that the district had collected over 600 community survey responses to date. She said the district will restart a referendum web page to centralize information and listed multiple upcoming community sessions for further public input.

Dr. McNeely said the effort includes intentional planning for elementary reconfiguration and a transition of third graders; she pledged continued updates and outreach and named several dates for community sessions to receive feedback. The superintendent emphasized that the planning will align with referendum timelines to keep projects on track for spring, summer and early fall work.

In a widely applauded announcement, Dr. McNeely said Moorestown High School produced seven National Merit Scholarship recipients and named students recognized by the program. She credited the achievement to “strong programs, a dedicated staff, and a community that values education.”

The communications and curriculum committee reports reinforced that outreach and curriculum changes are underway to support the strategic-planning process. Committee members described postcard, email and social-media outreach; plans for parent math nights; and tentative discussions about WHAMS start-time changes to address traffic and safety.

Board members and administrators encouraged residents to attend scheduled community sessions and to use district communications channels to track updates on the strategic plan and referendum. The meeting record shows multiple committee meetings and outreach touchpoints planned over May.
