Attorney Ando summarized a series of investigations into pharmacies and presented proposed resolutions, and the commission voted to accept several voluntary monetary settlements and other dispositions.
Among the matters presented, a pharmacy subject to an investigation for alleged loss of controlled substances was described in case 2025-1800; the attorney outlined the investigative findings and proposed a voluntary payment. Separately, case 2026-113 involved a connected pharmacy with printing/process issues and the commission accepted a proposed voluntary payment of $500. The commission accepted motions to resolve multiple other files after staff described corrective actions, staffing changes and process improvements at the respondents.
Commission discussion noted that many of the losses under review were individually small but cumulatively significant, prompting process changes and staff realignment at the pharmacies. In at least one matter a clinic voluntarily surrendered its credential amid allegations of cleanliness, unlicensed practice and security deficiencies; the surrender and recommended resolution were accepted by motion.
The commission did not record extended contested hearings for these items during this session; the recorded action was to accept the settlements and resolutions presented by counsel.
