Board approves inventory, internet and partition-wall contracts and accepts nearly $19.5K in donations

At its April 15 meeting the Canfield Local Board of Education approved several business items including a contract for a physical inventory, authorization to negotiate an agreement for classroom partition walls at Hilltop Elementary and an internet-service contract, and accepted a slate of community donations totaling $19,498.
Administration recommended Asset Control Solutions for on-site inventory services to support insurance valuation and the district’s GAP conversion audit; the company will perform a physical inventory every other year and provide annual updates otherwise. Mr. Marco described the vendor selection as necessary because a prior regional provider has ceased operations and the district’s last full physical inventory was long ago.
The board also authorized negotiation and execution of an agreement with Helios Logistics LLC for classroom partition walls and doors at Hilltop Elementary; administration said lead time for doors and hardware was a primary reason to move forward now so work could occur this summer. Trustees approved an internet-service contract with Access (administration said this aligns with district technology and consultant recommendations).
Finally, administration read and the board accepted cash donations and gifts supporting the CHS art show, athletics, robotics, the education innovation fund and scholarships; the total cash donations announced were $19,498. Trustees thanked donors and noted the donations support student programs not paid for from general fund operating dollars.
What’s next: Administration will finalize the contracts and return executed agreements to the board as required. Asset-control work is expected this summer; the Hilltop partition project will move forward with engineer coordination once contracts are executed.
