The Ross Town Council on April 29 presented a proclamation honoring Chief Rafllo Pa for more than four decades in public safety and hosted a swearing‑in ceremony for Raul Aguilar as the town’s new police chief.
The council read a proclamation that chronicled Chief Pa’s long career — from an early role as a Marin County dispatcher and EMT, to years with the San Rafael Police Department and a tenure as Ross police chief beginning in 2021. Council members praised his leadership, training initiatives and community engagement at town events. Chief Pa thanked his wife, department staff, the town manager and the council and said he looked forward to a retirement reception.
The council then swore in and pinned Raul Aguilar as chief. Aguilar thanked the town manager and council for their trust and acknowledged mentors and family in the room. He said he is mindful of the department’s public‑safety responsibilities and eager to work with staff and community partners.
