The Laramie County School District #2 board approved a package of routine financial, facilities and personnel actions at its April 13 meeting.
The board approved the agenda and consent items by voice vote after brief motioning. Mr. Logan presented the enrollment and financial snapshot, reporting 997 students currently enrolled and that the district had received about 74.7% of budgeted revenues and had expended or encumbered 83.1% of its budget. "As of April 1st we have 998 students enrolled... as of today we have decreased by one and have 997," Mr. Logan said.
Trustees then designated Points West Community Bank and First Wy Bank & Trust as depositaries for district funds for the 2026–27 school year. Board member Kendra moved the designation; Julianne seconded, and the motion carried by voice vote.
Facilities director Lance presented the district's five-year maintenance plan, outlining condition assessments, routine summer projects (painting, preventive maintenance and life-safety checks), prioritized larger projects such as exterior facelifts and roof/electrical/plumbing work, and longer-term component replacements. "A condition score is established for each building and within that condition score are areas of short-term, near-term and middle to long-term priorities," Lance told trustees. The board voted to approve the plan after a motion by Billy.
During executive-session business, the board approved multiple personnel items pending required certification and background checks, including new substitute hires and several certified teacher appointments and assignment changes; the board also acknowledged resignations and retirements. Julianne moved approval of the personnel slate; the motion was seconded and approved by voice vote.
The meeting notice included an upcoming special session to consider the district benefits package before the month-end deadline; trustees also confirmed the May 6 committee meeting and the May 11 regular board meeting.
