Director reports enrollment growth, Skyward vendor watch and live transportation map

On facilities, Miss Roto said HVAC work funded through infrastructure funds is nearing completion, and exterior-door work at Castle Heights is finished; a window bid packet for Castle Heights will go out this week.
Miss Roto also raised a vendor issue: "Skyward is our student information system. It was not on the list of vendors approved moving forward through the state," she said, adding that the district will monitor the situation and that any required transition would be a lengthy, state-driven process.
On transportation, Miss Roto and staff noted the district’s route map feature went live today; they reported between 1,500 and 1,600 users and said the function shows route information and the approximate bus location. The director told the board the district will send a notice to families advising them to refresh the app to ensure map functionality.
A finance update given elsewhere in the meeting reported local option sales-tax collections for the most recent cycle of $959,722, roughly $141,000 above the district’s estimate; property-tax collections were noted as forthcoming after the holiday season.
The board discussed communication steps to notify parents about the app and accepted the director’s updates before moving to the teaching-and-learning presentation.
