Huron City Council on March 24 moved Ordinance 2026-1 to its second reading after staff described a rezoning request affecting property owned by Holiday Harbor Marina, Inc.
City staff said the proposal would reclassify approximately 1.3698 acres from R3 (multifamily residential) to B3 (general business) to align the official zoning map with a merged parcel formerly identified under Erie County permanent parcel number 42-02091.0000. Mr. Shrader described the ordinance as the second reading and Mr. Hamilton offered to answer questions about the application and the planning commission review.
The planning commission approved the rezoning in January and the council previously held a public hearing on March 10. On March 24 council voted to place the ordinance on second reading to allow time for any remaining review and procedural steps. No substantive amendments were announced at the meeting.
The council did not record a final adoption vote on the ordinance at the March 24 meeting; the item will return for further consideration under the city's standard second-reading process.
