The Verona Area School District board approved roof projects for Badger Ridge and Cornell schools and voted that OE‑12 (facilities) met board expectations after receiving a detailed monitoring packet and a video presentation.
Facilities director John Bremer described recent in-house work—LED gym conversions, HVAC control upgrades and prioritized roofing—and said long-term planning and preventive maintenance have reduced the need for reactive capital referenda. "It's not me. It's the team," Bremer said, praising custodial and maintenance staff for decades of institutional knowledge and for completing much project work in-house.
Board members thanked staff for the comprehensive 83‑page evidence packet and video illustrating maintenance requests, tracking systems and capital-planning decisions. The motions to approve the roof proposals and to accept the OE‑12 monitoring report passed by voice vote; staff will proceed with competitive bid execution and project scheduling.
