Applicant Senier Gomedia said a curbside parking space that used to sit in front of her home had been removed and that she does not have usable off‑street parking. Commissioners discussed nearby designated signs at 55 Addison and planned installations near 54 and 66; Commissioner Jimmy moved to approve the 54 Addison sign with the understanding holders would share nearby spots, and the motion passed by voice vote.
Wilson Estrada, who applied for a sign at 60 Addison, told the commission he had recent surgery and cancer and that walking long distances is difficult. Staff and commissioners explained that approved and pending signs at 54 and 66 will be available in the vicinity and, balancing resident parking supply, the commission voted to deny the 60 Addison application while directing the applicant to use the nearby designated spots.
Shondi Hams Hernandez (75 Essex) described chronic nerve damage that limits walking; commissioners approved a sign at 75 and discussed keeping or relocating a nearby sign at 71 to serve the same block.
Separately, the commission reviewed multiple staff requests to remove signs where residents had not submitted updated placard documentation. The commission approved removal at 93 Bellingham Street and 309 Spruce Street after long lapses in paperwork, approved removal at 34 C Street after confirming another nearby sign would remain, and denied removal at 27 Gardener Street after the resident supplied updated documentation before the meeting.
Commission staff noted an application form question is confusing to applicants and said they will review and clarify that field before the next meeting. Staff also reminded residents to submit new placard copies when their placards are renewed so records stay current.
