K–5 elementary project nears opening as board hears schedule, change-orders and a recordable site injury

The Bethel Park SD board heard a detailed construction update on the new K–5 elementary school Tuesday, including interior finish photos, a recordable accident and a timeline for phased handovers intended to let the district move furniture in before school opens.
Mr. Marcy, the project presenter, said interior work such as ceiling grids, marker boards and casework is wrapping up in classroom wings and that the cafeteria tile and gym infrastructure are largely installed. He said contractors will begin paving in about four weeks and that the gym floor installation is scheduled once permanent lighting and dock power are in place.
