Mr. Pratt, representing the Wildcat Foundation, briefed the board on the foundation’s grant process and fundraising results. He said the foundation received 36 grant applications (up from about 20 the prior year) and recommended a package of budgeted grants and EITC-funded awards that together total about $109,210 for the coming year. Mr. Pratt said the foundation funded roughly 95 percent of grant requests this year (34 of 36 awards) and highlighted several community donors who bolstered the total.
Pratt identified recurring donors and recent large contributions: Crabree Ro Associates and Ortown Bank each gave $15,000, Select Medical gave $10,000, and a Subaru dealership’s participation in a national "Share the Love" program produced a $34,000 check. Pratt also referenced an anonymous donor who has given more than $70,000 over several years and additional smaller gifts targeted to food and nutrition programs.
Grant highlights proposed for district programs include donations to food pantries and snack banks, funding for four replacement dishwashers for the middle-school FCS program, CPR training support, instruments for the marching band, sensory-room funding, a link-crew program at the high school and library-reading programs across district schools.
Board members thanked the foundation for proactive outreach and recommended the foundation’s grant list be presented for formal approval at the board’s next business meeting.
Ending: The board will consider the Wildcat Foundation grant approvals at its next voting meeting.
