Fourth-grader and parent urge return of ELA enrichment at Pine-Richland

Christina Purcellis, who identified herself as a Richland Township resident and former board member, urged the board to consider classroom-integrated models similar to the district's extended math approaches to preserve and expand ELA enrichment in grades four to six. She suggested that moving the service into classroom practice could reach more students within existing staffing structures.
The pair's remarks were the last public comments before the meeting adjourned. Board members did not make an immediate commitment to restore ELA enrichment on the spot and will consider program requests in follow-up discussions.
