Laauo said the agency is looking at a roughly $200 million deficit over the next four years and warned the council that that could translate into a service reduction of up to 16% and the loss of approximately 300 jobs over the period if new funding is not secured.
“We are looking at the possibility of a service reduction of up to 16% and a job loss of 300 jobs,” Laauo told council. He said the AC Transit Board will consider potential service reductions at a June 10 meeting and that the agency will host a public open house immediately before that meeting to present options and gather feedback.
Laauo urged the council to share details of the June meeting and open house with Emeryville residents and community groups.
