North Ridgeville public works officials told the Finance Committee on Nov. 5 that the department wants to replace aging equipment and build a larger salt barn after a busy year of ditch cleaning, paving and storm repairs.
The department’s street foreman, Anthony Oliva, said crews completed about 6½ miles of ditch cleaning and brush clearing this year and performed extensive pavement maintenance, including roughly 6½ lane miles of paving and nearly 1,000 in-house man-hours of crack sealing. "We had 6 and a half miles of ditch work," Oliva said, recapping projects by name and noting large volumes of storm inspection and jetting work.
