Waunakee school board elects officers, confirms routine organizational items

The board approved continuing to use the local Waunakee Tribune as the district's official newspaper for posting meeting notices and minutes. It also reaffirmed its meeting schedule, agreeing to meet on the second Monday of each month with closed session at 6:00 p.m. and open session at 7:00 p.m. The board set the district's annual meeting for Aug. 24, 2026, at 7:00 p.m.
Administrators presented routine financial housekeeping items. The board approved the list of official depositories for district funds and heard from staff that the district will issue a request for proposal (RFP) for banking services in July, expect responses in August and, if a change is made, plan to implement any new banking arrangement around early November.
The board also approved participation in two memberships, recorded in the minutes as 'WB' and the WIAA (the Wisconsin Interscholastic Athletic Association) for student athletics participation. No substantive policy changes were made; the meeting focused on annual organizational housekeeping and formalizing officer roles and administrative procedures.
