House recognizes Dr. David Tillstrong, lauds community health work and $10,000 donation

The Minnesota House on May 5, 2026, took time during its Saint Paul session to recognize Dr. David Tillstrong as the 2025 recipient of the Minnesota Medical Association Humanitarian Award.
Representative Perry Men rose on a point of privilege to introduce Dr. Tillstrong, saying the physician has spent more than three decades serving patients and advancing community health in central Minnesota. Perry Men highlighted Dr. Tillstrong's role in initiatives focused on nutrition, physical activity and community design, including efforts to expand sidewalks, bike lanes and access to healthy food in schools, workplaces and neighborhoods.
"This is the kind of leadership that makes a lasting difference in people's lives," Representative Perry Men said, asking members to join him in thanking Dr. Tillstrong for his service.
Perry Men also said Dr. Tillstrong directed a $10,000 donation to support genetic testing for families who otherwise could not afford it. The recognition occurred on the House floor with Dr. Tillstrong present in the gallery.
The session later recessed for party caucuses after members handled procedural business.
