Zeta Phi Beta and Phi Beta Sigma announce annual "Blue and White" health fair in Dolton

Papillon Spinks, service chair for Zeta Phi Beta Sorority Incorporated’s Zeta Zeta chapter in Dolton, said the sorority and Phi Beta Sigma fraternity are hosting their annual "Blue and White" health fair Wednesday at Free Indeed in Dolton.
"We have 10 vendors here today," Spinks said, listing County Care (Medicaid renewal), Care Access (blood draws and health screenings) and University of Chicago Medicine (maternal health) among participants. She added that Elevation Individual and Family Therapy and a local vendor, Elixir Squeeze and Brew, would also be on site.
Spinks described the fair as an effort to bring resources to residents who may not otherwise be able to access them. "We give away gas cards and we have some goodie bags for those who come and utilize the resources at our health fair," she said, noting the event intentionally runs while the Free Indeed food pantry is open to increase foot traffic.
Reginald Crump, introduced by Spinks as director of social action for the Omicron Alpha Sigma chapter of Phi Beta Sigma in Matteson, encouraged attendance and use of the services, saying, "Come on out. Get some of this free giveaway stuff. Get these health services."
Spinks thanked the Village of Dolton and local partners, including New Community Church and other fraternity and sorority chapters, for promoting the event. The organizers said the fair runs from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. and that they plan to return next year.
