RHINEBECK, N.Y. — The Rhinebeck Town Board on April 27 approved a bundle of routine municipal items in addition to debating a major library funding question.
Among the actions the board approved by voice vote or unanimous consent were: authorization for quarterly e-recycling at the transfer station beginning in June 2026; funding for Rhinebeck Community Day and the Fall Foliage Race (now scheduled for Sept. 26, 2026); increases in certain planning board subdivision recreation fees (proposed to move from $3,000 to $5,000 for small subdivisions and $10,000 for larger ones); hiring a realtor to provide assessor comps after local MLS access changed; hiring Grant and Lear Lyons for an Article 78 matter; approval of a hydrological study by Alpha Geoscience; and several departmental and personnel items for the recreation and cemetery departments.
The board also endorsed a parking plan associated with the Rhinecliff Hotel site plan and authorized use of the town meeting room by the town justices for court purposes. Most routine motions passed unanimously after brief discussion.
What happens next: Several administrative items will be implemented by town staff (contracts, procurement, and applicant-funded reviews). The board said it would follow up on building-permit reporting from the village and on specific contract dates for e-recycling deliveries.
