The Albuquerque Public Schools Board of Education voted unanimously to accept the activity fund internal audit reports for the period Jan. 1, 2026, through March 31, 2026.
Courtney Jackson, a board member, moved to accept the reports, saying, “I move we accept the activity fund internal audit reports for the period of January 1st, 2026 through March 31st, 2026.” Joshua Martinez, a board member, seconded the motion.
Renette Upadaka, identified in the meeting as the district’s chief financial officer, introduced the presenters associated with the reports: Mark Turnbull, executive director of accounting, and Sonya Montoya, manager of activity fund compliance. The board did not record substantive public discussion of the audit findings during the meeting before the vote.
The board conducted a roll-call vote. The record shows the following members voting “Yes”: Joshua Martinez; Courtney Jackson; Sarah Shankle McCoy; Savannah Vesaraga; Renette Upadaka; Gabriela Duran Blakey; and Rebecca Benson. The motion carried, approving the internal audit reports.
