The motion, presented by the chair of Ways and Means, was adopted by roll call; councilors recorded "yes" across the board and the clerk recorded a 9–0 vote. The appropriation addresses salary shortfalls for police superior offices through the remainder of the fiscal year and was described by the finance chair as necessary to meet the terms of the patrolman’s contract.
Councilors had no further debate before the roll call and the order was adopted immediately following the chair’s recommendation. The controller and treasurer’s offices will process the transfer and update the city’s budget ledger.
