Council appoints Jennifer Bennett to Chesapeake Beach Board of Elections

Bennett introduced herself during the meeting: “My name is Jennifer Bennett. I’ve lived in Chesapeake Beach for almost 20 years,” she said, describing a federal-government career and recent retirement as motivation to volunteer for the board.
Council members thanked Bennett and noted the Board of Elections has been operating with limited staff. The appointment was made by motion, second and voice vote; the mayor announced the motion carried.
Next steps: Bennett will be added to the board roster and will participate in upcoming election preparations and the April work session where the elections committee will answer council questions.
