Talbot County adopts 219-page economic development and tourism strategic plan

Talbot County Council voted unanimously to adopt a comprehensive 219-page strategic plan for economic development and tourism that sets five priority areas: strengthening regional innovation anchors, improving business services, cultivating small-business ecosystems, growing a tourism economy, and supporting a resilient workforce.

Economic development staff told the council the plan had two months of review, extensive public engagement and a supporting data package. Cassandra, the department presenter, emphasized the document is strategic rather than operational: "Nothing in this document authorizes specific projects, expenditures, or policy changes without coming back before you," she said.
