Hickman Mills board certifies election, swears in directors and elects officers

The board accepted certified election results for the 2025'26 term showing vote totals read into the record by the clerk. Clerk Walker read the certified totals for each successful candidate and the board voted to accept the certification.
Three directors were sworn in by repeating the director's oath on the record. After the oath, the superintendent opened nominations for board officers. Bonnie Mims was nominated and elected board president (on the record the vote was six yeses and one abstention). Anne Coleman was elected vice president, Miss Cox was named board treasurer, Evelyn Hilderbrand was selected as the MSBA delegate (with Mims as alternate), and Walker was confirmed as board secretary. Those selections were confirmed by roll call.
Board members and leadership used the seating and officer-elect announcements to thank departing and continuing colleagues and to outline the year's upcoming priorities, including literacy work and principal appointments. The seating followed the district's policies for board organization.
