Hickman Mills ratifies provider contracts for staffing supports, social-emotional curriculum and student services
Summary

Key items ratified or renewed:
- Teachers Like Me: a placement agreement for three candidates at a $15,000 placement fee (covers the first year of the three-year placement).
- Casey Tar Hills: $4,500 for services at the Real World Learning Center supporting social-emotional and post-secondary planning.
- Character Strong: continuation of a counseling-recommended social-emotional learning curriculum for the remainder of the year at a cost of $6,997 (funded by the Jackson County Children's Services Fund capacity-building grant); administration noted they may seek a 2026'27 renewal.
- Children's Center for the Visually Impaired (CCVI): annual renewal of a fee-for-service contract to maintain the ability to place students immediately if needed; administrators said there were no current students enrolled but the contract ensures services are available by invoice as needed.
- Kelly Pediatric Therapy Services (addendum): an add-on to the district's staffing contract to allow access to pediatric therapy services (OT, PT, SLP, specialized teachers) on a fee-for-service basis if hiring gaps remain; example billing rates were discussed in the attachments.
- Summit Behavioral Services: renewal to continue intensive behavioral supports; two students currently served and three on a waiting list for next year.
- Stifel engagement letter: formal engagement of Stifel as underwriter for the recently voter-approved general obligation bond; administration noted no upfront cost and that underwriting fees will be included as soft costs in bond closing and paid from bond proceeds.
Each contract was presented with its funding source and purpose; board members had brief clarifying exchanges about usage, invoicing and program reach. The board moved and ratified the package by roll-call vote.
