Courtney described adjustments in the general supplemental and rural basic funds for items such as additional voting‑accessible equipment, polling‑place rent increases, and sheriff overtime. The auditor said some polling‑place rent increases may prompt relocating polling sites before the general election, which would require mailed notices to affected voters.
After the explanation, a motion was made and seconded to set a public hearing; the board voted to set the May 11, 9:00 a.m. hearing by voice vote.
Courtney said the amendment will be posted and staff will notify the public of the hearing date.
