Mrs. Wheeler introduced the board recommendation to appoint Mr. Toby Steele, Carmel Clay Schools director of facilities, to the City of Carmel Environmental Stewardship Committee, explaining Steele's facilities expertise would help the city‑school partnership on sustainability and operations. Dr. Orike described Mr. Steele as the district's facilities director with "incredible knowledge of the inner workings" of Carmel Clay Schools.
