Students and residents urge Cibolo voters to back SEUCISD bond for stadiums, CTE and facility repairs

"We need reliable facilities," he said, describing leaking roofs, buckets collecting water and clogged bathrooms in some classrooms.
Volunteer and retired educator Veronica Goldhorn described facility conditions across district campuses — aging paint, lighting, HVAC systems up to 17 years old, recurrent compressor failures at Corbett/ Dolby Junior High and playground and drainage problems — and urged voters to support three propositions: general facilities, stadium facilities and technology devices.
Other speakers included Abigail Simon, a chamber leadership participant attending to learn about local government, and Parker Gilman, the Eagle Scout recognized earlier in the meeting, who thanked the council for the proclamation and reiterated the need for CTE improvements and better barns for animal projects.
Speakers repeatedly framed the bond as an investment in student safety, practical learning (CTE and agricultural programs) and the community's longer-term competitiveness, and encouraged registered voters in Cibolo to participate on May 2 from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
The council received the comments; no formal council action on the bond occurred at the meeting.
Next steps: The bond election proceeds on the posted date; council did not take action to endorse or oppose the ballot propositions during this meeting.
