Board fills advisory and special-district vacancies and appoints new fair board member

The Lassen County Board of Supervisors approved several personnel appointments at this meeting.
Deputy Clerk Michelle Daga presented one appointment to the Behavioral Health Advisory Board: James Dando, a recommended applicant to fill a term expiring Jan. 8, 2029; the board approved the appointment by motion. The board also addressed three vacancies on the Lake Forest Fire Protection District board; after staff distributed a late application, supervisors moved to appoint Shenia (Shania) Pico to a term expiring Dec. 1, 2028 and Deborah K. Jordan Webb to a term expiring Dec. 4, 2026, which staff said would help the district re-establish a quorum for business.
Fair Manager Bill Py recommended Justin Barney for the fair board; supervisors praised his community ties and approved his appointment.
All appointments were moved, seconded and approved by voice vote during the meeting. Staff noted that terms vary and some appointed positions will face the ballot in future election cycles as required by statute.
