Students honored: Citizens of the month, SkillsUSA winners and valedictorian announced

The Jefferson School District honored students and staff achievements at its April 27 meeting, highlighting classroom citizenship, statewide competitions and senior academic honors.
Teacher presenters introduced Citizens of the Month from East, Sullivan, West, the middle school and Jefferson High, praising students for leadership, helpfulness and classroom participation. The board applauded families and principals for supporting the recognitions.
The district also recognized SkillsUSA participants: Colton and Tyler earned first place in the state robotics urban search and rescue competition; Brady Crow placed third in state first aid/CPR. Staff noted interest from coaches at other schools and the potential to pursue national competition opportunities.
Senior honors were announced: Michael Wilson was named valedictorian and Kyla Pulkerbeck salutatorian for the Class of 2026. The superintendent shared cumulative GPAs and an extensive list of AP coursework for both students.
Music and arts achievements were also noted: several solo and ensemble performers advanced to state and earned top scores, and West Elementary received a Wisconsin school recognition award in the Title I "impact" category. Board members congratulated students and staff for the accomplishments.
