Solicitor warns employees of planned 4–6 week parking garage shutdown in May

“Just as a reminder to employees, the parking garage is going to be shutting down again ... probably a 4 to 6 week period,” the Solicitor said, noting exact dates were not yet available. The Solicitor added that this would be the last shutdown and that the work was planned to occur while weather is better so finishing work can be completed.
County staff member Dan Kobalt, who was invited to add detail, said weather will influence the length of the shutdown and that if conditions are favorable the outage could be closer to four weeks.
Officials did not provide a firm start date during the work session and asked employees to watch for more specific scheduling information. No formal vote or budget action was taken in the meeting; the announcement functioned as a staffing and operations notice to county employees.
