Authority approves on-call appraisal contracts with Bill Shoff and Erie Appraisals

The board authorized the redevelopment authority to enter contracts with Bill Shoff and Associates and Erie Appraisal Associates for on-call residential and commercial appraisal services.
Aaron reviewed the results of an RFQ for on-call real estate appraisal services and said the authority received two proposals: one from Bill Shoff and Associates and one from Erie Appraisal Associates. He recommended contracting with both firms so the authority can perform residential appraisals and have a commercial appraiser available when needed.
Aaron said having both firms under contract proved beneficial during past court proceedings, when representatives from both firms testified. "Having both of them under contract and be able to have both expertise as 1 to 1 to be the subject matter of who did the appraisal, and the other to be the subject matter overall process," he said.
A resolution authorizing the authority to negotiate and execute professional services agreements with the two firms was moved, seconded and approved by voice vote. Aaron said the firms have been used previously and the authority was pleased with their services.
