Council approves use of Denton contract for North Corinth Street rehabilitation

Glenn Barker, introduced by staff as the city’s public works director, described the project and said the road’s current Pavement Condition Index (PCI) is about 70, while the city’s target is 75–80. Barker described the rehabilitation scope and said the project includes options such as converting the roadway from three lanes to two with side parking, installing bulb-outs at intersections to prevent corner parking and creating protected parking at certain locations. Barker identified a separate, smaller contract for drainage work (around $10,000) that was not included in the $189,343 figure discussed at the meeting.
A council member moved to approve using the Denton contract and to authorize the city manager to execute; the motion passed unanimously. Staff said the project is intended to restore pavement condition and improve pedestrian and parking configuration along North Corinth Street.
