Solicitor reports two sales agreements progressing, outlines encroachment resolution

Solicitor Gene briefed the board on ongoing legal and property matters, saying two sales agreements remain in process and describing a small encroachment where recent cement work overlapped a property line. Gene said he contacted the adjoining owner, Bill Bucheri, and will issue letters to involved parties to clarify the conveyed boundary.
"We're gonna convey only the property inconsistent with the property line, and they're gonna accept that so that there aren't there isn't any misconception that they can use part of that encroachment area," Gene said.
Gene also said the authority is finalizing a brief for an appellate filing and does not anticipate novel legal issues as the matter moves through Commonwealth Court. He reported the 9th and Cherry Street transaction is effectively closed and the team plans a small formal closing to put parties at ease. He additionally described efforts to expedite the process on smaller blighted properties.
No board questions were raised during the solicitor's report. Gene said he will keep the board updated as matters progress through the courts and closing processes.
