Residents and environmental groups win postponement of W. Boynton Ranches zoning item

Linda Smith of Sierra Club Jupiter Florida told the board the item is in Commissioner Sachs's district and that the packet lacked a traffic study she could review.
Vice Mayor Marci Woodward moved to postpone the item and Commissioner Gregg Weiss seconded; the motion carried 6-0. The board directed that the ad-delete packet include a revised traffic analysis; staff indicated the updated traffic study will be added given the last one is more than a year old.
Why it matters: The postponement gives the district commissioner, residents and organized stakeholders additional time to review a project that speakers said could affect local traffic and neighborhood conditions. Developers and opponents agreed the item would return to the board on May 28 for further consideration.
