Tri-City United board accepts donations, approves audit, ACT funding and calendar changes

The Tri-City United School Board voted unanimously on a package of routine but material items: acceptance of designated donations, approval of the fiscal year 2024 audit, funding for 11th-grade ACT testing and changes to the 2025 meeting calendar.
A resolution accepting donations listed several gifts and directed their use as specified by the donors. The board recorded acceptance of contributions including $1,250 from VFW Post 1803 for the Le Center fax room and $6,800 from the Titans Football Club for the high school weight-room/locker-room project; the motion was introduced and carried on a roll-call vote (6-0).
The board then certified the levy (covered in a separate article), approved the FY24 audit on a subsequent motion and approved funding for ACT testing for juniors (the funding figure was described in the meeting as “about $4,500”). Board members also voted to switch regular board meetings to the fourth Monday and work sessions to the second Monday of each month and later approved a swap of January meeting dates to move the organizational meeting to January 27, 2025; both calendar motions passed without dissent.
Motions came from board members and were handled by standard roll-call or voice vote. The board noted that donations will be used as designated and that approved payments and audits will be processed through standard fiscal procedures.
