County staff recommend $5.5 million design-build award for OBP tennis expansion

Staff said shifting court locations and adjusting elevations reduced earth‑moving and haul-off costs and allowed retention of promised amenities, including lighting, resurfacing of existing courts and a restroom. Funding was identified from the parks and recreation SPLAST 2021 account and staff recommended a contract not to exceed $5.5 million.
Commissioners asked technical questions about engineering and cost controls; staff described site adjustments and design strategies intended to keep costs within the recommended budget. The item was placed on the consent agenda for approval as part of the full consent package; no separate vote on the award was recorded on the meeting transcript.
