District honors nationally certified staff and student teams; robotics and DI teams advance to nationals/globals

Natrona County School District #1 used its public meeting to recognize educators and students for professional certifications and competitive achievements.
District staff and administrators were announced as newly certified or as holders of national credentials, including instructional facilitators, school psychologists, counselors, occupational therapists, nurses and school nutrition staff. A presenter read names of staff who earned national certifications and acknowledged several who could not attend.
Principal Mike Brainard introduced robotics coaches Ronnie Mole and Jim Fulkerson and presented Donovan "DJ" Harrison, who received a statewide First Leadership Award in robotics and will represent Midwest School at nationals in Houston. "I'm Donovan Harrison... I've been doing robotics for six, going on seven years," DJ told trustees, thanking his coaches and principal.
Principal and program leaders also highlighted successes in Destination Imagination and Science Olympiad: Desiree Riley said five DI teams advanced to global finals, and Science Olympiad coaches reported multiple state championships and individuals advancing to regional or national competition.
The board expressed appreciation to award organizers, volunteers and donors who supported student programs. No formal board action was taken; these items were ceremonial recognitions included before regular business.
