The Village of Cross Plains received a construction update April 27 on the new village hall and approved a contractor payment application after staff resolved inconsistent numbers in the paperwork.
Staff reported completion of structural steel, precast plank installation, lower‑level slab and ongoing rough‑ins for mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems. Furniture and police locker contracts were awarded earlier; the project also has a WEDC Vibrant Spaces grant that requires signage acknowledging the award.
When the Board considered contractor payment application No. 4, two different totals appeared in documents circulated to trustees. Staff and the architect confirmed the correct amount and the Board approved the payment by voice vote.
The Administrator noted a borrowing timeline: authorize borrowing in June, award bids in July and receive funds in August, which should maintain cashflow for construction through summer.
