County acknowledges Sexual Assault Response Team biennial report as SART moves to county-level meetings

Jeff presented the Limestone County Sexual Assault Response Team (SART) biennial report and asked the Commissioners Court to acknowledge receipt for the record.
He said the regional SART that previously covered several counties has disbanded and that Limestone County has formed its own team. The county-level SART meets quarterly to review adult sexual assault cases, debrief investigations and discuss ways to improve responses. Jeff noted that Rohark, the county’s SAFE exam nurse, participates in the team and that every local law enforcement agency sends a representative.
Jeff said the report — intended as a transparency measure and not an action item — had already been submitted to TAASA. "We're not asking you to approve it; we're putting it in front of you to acknowledge it and to show we're meeting and reviewing cases," he told the court.
Commissioners moved, seconded and acknowledged receipt of the biennial report. The item was recorded for the minutes so the county could demonstrate compliance with TAASA reporting requirements.
