At the April 28 Lebanon City Council meeting, resident Rick Davis described a January snow event in which city plows left a large pile of snow in front of his driveway. Davis said he spent six hours digging out and that a written letter and photos sent to city staff three months earlier received no response.
"It took me a total of six hours," Davis said, describing repeated trips to shovel his cul-de-sac driveway after the plow left a large pile that prevented access.
Councilors and staff responded during public comment and afterward. Council members acknowledged the difficulty of clearing cul-de-sacs and alleyways during a major snow event, apologized that the resident had not received prompt follow-up, and provided the service-department phone number (228-3150) for residents to report urgent plowing issues. A council member offered to call Davis personally to follow up.
City staff said crews did return to clear some cul-de-sacs after the storm when equipment and schedules allowed and reiterated that residents should report urgent needs by phone to be added to the service list.
Next steps: Staff said they will follow up with Davis directly and reiterated the city’s request that residents report blocked driveways or emergency access issues to the service department number.
