Wappingers board approves BOCES budget, MOU and personnel-charter updates in unanimous votes

Wappingers Central School District trustees unanimously approved a package of routine and governance items at their April 28 meeting, including the district’s single vote in favor of the Board of Cooperative Educational Services (BOCES) 2026–27 administrative budget totaling $7,142,000.
The board approved the meeting consent agenda (items 6.02–6.11) without requests to remove items for separate consideration. The board also authorized travel and registration for trustees Marie Johnson, Cheryl Miggots and Karen Mondesando to attend the NISBA Leadership in Education event July 24–25, 2026, approving a $105 member-rate registration and any associated hotel, mileage, tolls, parking and meal reimbursements necessary to secure lodging reservations.
Trustees approved a revised personnel committee charter intended to bring the charter back into its annual review cycle and to improve readability; board members said the document had not undergone a substantive update since 2018 aside from a minor edit in 2022. The board also approved a memorandum of understanding with the Winter Circle Project for the 2026–27 school year and authorized the superintendent to execute the MOU contingent on final negotiation of mutually acceptable terms.
On the BOCES ballot, the board cast its single district vote to approve the administrative budget and authorized the district clerk to certify that vote. The board also cast its votes for nominees to the Duchess County BOCES board as recorded in the meeting (nominees listed in the record). All recorded motions carried unanimously.
