The Bennington Public Schools Board on March 9 awarded the bid for OPW storm sewer and paving work associated with the district’s second high school to Valley Corporation for $1,618,655.
Administrators said three bids were received and DLR Group reviewed the low bid for contractor experience and schedule compliance. The project budget was $1,718,000, leaving the low bid approximately $99,949 under budget.
The board heard that construction administration will be provided by DLR Group under the City of Omaha’s supervision and coordination with district staff. Officials said the road and storm sewer package is the second of three planned bid packages for the project; a future package will cover road improvements on Military/180th Avenue.
The motion to award the contract passed by roll call.
District staff indicated the OPW work and paving will be executed in coordination with the city and is scheduled for summer construction windows tied to the broader campus build-out timeline.
