Wyomissing Area SD board approves finance slate, authorizes Solar for Schools grant requests

The Wyomissing Area School District board on April 27 approved finance and facilities items and ratified personnel and policy recommendations in unanimous votes.

During the finance and facilities portion of the agenda the board acknowledged donations from the Wyomissing Area Education Foundation for author visits and playground garden work and considered a resolution to request Solar for Schools program grant funding. The amounts announced during discussion were $360,000 for the junior/senior high school, $100,500 for West Reading Elementary Center, and $360,000 for Wyomissing Eagles Elementary.

The finance and facilities slate (items 1–15 as presented) was put to a roll-call vote and approved with the recorded 'yes' votes of board members present. The meeting record shows a nine-member affirmative roll call.

The board then considered personnel and policy items (numbers 1–6 on the agenda). Those recommendations were moved, seconded and approved by roll-call vote; the transcript records unanimous support among members present.

Earlier in the meeting the board also approved routine items — March 23 meeting minutes, the treasurer's report for March 2026 and payment of bills — by voice vote without opposition.

No amendments or tablings were recorded on the motions as read during the meeting. District staff said plaques and other recognition items tied to some finance receipts would be posted across buildings and that staff winners would be invited to future meetings for public recognition.
