Board renews membership in regional groundwater mitigation program memorandum of agreement

The Gloucester County Board of Supervisors voted to renew the county’s participation in the Regional Groundwater Mitigation Program memorandum of agreement administered through the HRPDC.
County staff said the program, established in 1994, provides an administrative framework for signatory parties to obtain technical analyses of mitigation for groundwater withdrawals. The renewal packet notes the agreement has historically been renewed in five‑year increments; the current MOA differs by not including a fixed expiration date, meaning Gloucester’s participation will continue until the county elects to rescind.
Mr. Baines introduced the item and Mr. Wilmont reviewed technical or legal details on the renewal. A motion to adopt the ordinance was made, seconded and the board approved the renewal by roll call.
