County election official flags potential polling‑location moves, outlines early-voting options

The county election official briefed the fiscal court on potential polling-location changes ahead of the primary and urged sensitivity to voters who have used the same precincts for decades.

Shanda told the court the county has reduced the number of polling locations over time and that some facilities may be unavailable for the primary: "the Port Royal Baptist Church ... they think they'll be ready to go for the primary election, but ... the church is older and I don't see any rewiring happening," she said, and noted the Kentucky River Fire Department may not be willing to host elections after the primary.

"I know you're going to hurt Grandma Sue and Bob their feelings because they voted at the church for, you know, 57 years and they're not going to like moving," she said.
