Return to owner 8." He and committee members said adoptions brought in approximately $1,400, donations totaled $1,297 and other receipts were listed in the packet.
The committee identified near-term facility needs: plumbing work to install a donated dog wash and an exterior water hookup; raising interior dog‑walk fencing where some animals jump the existing 4-foot fence; installing a concrete pad to place donated outdoor kennels; and inspecting an aging transport trailer to determine whether it should be retired. The committee also discussed administrative issues with a shelter Facebook account that has roughly 10,000 followers and recommended regaining operational control of that page.
Roger said the committee expects upcoming fundraising events and grant applications to support projects, including a possible $10,000 Verizon grant and adoption events planned in Louisville and Ragcliffe. Court members agreed to defer formal approval of an updated interlocal agreement and to review that agreement at the special meeting scheduled for the budget first reading.
The court did not take final action on capital expenditures at the meeting; staff were directed to bring the interlocal agreement and any contract language to the special meeting for fuller review.
