Board member Teigen urged support for the downtown grocery, noting community demand after a recent downtown grocery closure and citing staffs note that the private partner would bring more than $7,000,000 in private investment to West Salem. Board member Nordyke said both awards advance housing and business opportunities across the city.
The board approved the consent calendar by roll call with all present voting aye and one member absent. There were no public hearings or special orders tied to these items and board members emphasized the connection between urban renewal investment and private leverage.
