Kenosha County supervisors refer appointments, parks plan and Pride Month resolution to committees; approve April minutes

Several appointments were announced and referred to standing committees rather than being confirmed on the floor. The board listed a County Board appointment of John Pool to the Kenosha Joint Services Board (referred to the Judiciary and Law Enforcement Committee). County Executive appointments included Aaron Pugh to the Kenosha County Zoning Board of Adjustments (referred to the Planning and Development and Extension Education Committee, PEDAC), Rebecca Detert to serve as Director of Human Services (referred to the Human Services Committee), and Shelly Billingsley to serve as Director of Public Works and Development Services (referred to the Public Works and Facilities Committee). The board also announced Paul Tollard as an alternate to the Southeastern Wisconsin Fox River Commission and referred that item to PEDAC.
Committee communications were likewise referred for review. The Public Works and Facilities Committee transmitted a resolution recommending adoption of the Kenosha County Parks Comprehensive Outdoor Recreation Plan and a separate resolution authorizing a gas valve assembly easement on Brightondale Park property; both were referred to Public Works, Facilities, and Finance and Administration Committees. Supervisors Nemschick and Kirby submitted a resolution recognizing June 2026 as Pride Month, which the chair sent to the Human Services Committee for consideration. The board also received a communication proposing an intergovernmental parcel transfer with the City of Kenosha for the Roosevelt Auto Body property at 2907 63rd Street; that item was referred to Public Works, Facilities, and Finance and Administration Committees.
On procedural business, Supervisor Nemschick moved to approve the April 21, 2026 annual and organizational minutes; Supervisor Decker seconded. The chair called for a voice vote: “All those in favor? Aye. Opposed? Motion carries.” The transcript does not record a numerical vote tally. Later, Supervisor Stack moved to adjourn; Supervisor Robinson seconded, and the chair closed the meeting after a successful voice vote.
